Description: Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) is widely used to characterize materials’ bulk properties such as modulus, compliance, and damping (tan delta). It measures changes of rheological behavior under dynamic conditions as a function of temperature, time, frequency, stress, atmosphere, or a combination of these parameters. Stress-strain, creep recovery, thermomechanical, and stress relaxation measurements are just a few examples of the uses of DMA.

Mechanical spectroscopy characterizations using DMA8000 equipment can be performed for frequencies between 1mHz to 300Hz and a temperature range of about 80K-870K, depending on the sample characteristics and geometry.

DMA characterizations are available for internal and external members of UFSCar who must contact the person in charge (Prof. Dr. Paulo Sergio da Silva Jr) for detailed information and booking.
